Shop manager with Judi Smith, Caroline Lucas MP and Roger French
A new travel shop was officially opened by the country’s first Green MP.
Brighton and Hove Bus Company has spent £300,000 creating the 1 Stop Travel shop in North Street.
Brighton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas cut the ribbon.
Roger French, of Brighton and Hove Bus Company, said: “There’s nowhere else that customers can be guided to what the best travel options are and we are proud to be offering the UK’s only truly integrated travel service in a high street.
“We know offering clear information is key to encouraging public transport use and we’re delighted to be playing our part.”
The new shop, which will open weekdays from 7.30am to 7pm, has 11 counters.

Where is the 81 Roger and why do Compass now operate it? You got the bus lane you wanted and then dump the services.

Caroline should be up at the railway station sorting out the poor service and also asking Roger why the estates are so poorly served when his monopoly, private profit making bus company have been given a huge swathe of public highway free of charge.

RTFM before comments perhaps?
No ad hominem attacks from me, none are needed. In this glaring instance.

...and if I see one more girl put her short legs upon the seats at the back of the bus, I swear I will slap the little ****!....you've probably guessed that I have to travel on a 'number 1'.

indeed, 'Plantpot', if only the general public were better behaved in this town but they're not!

"...nowhere else that customers can be guided to what the best travel options are" – so has their website broke?
Last moan... Caroline Lucas opening said shop, so she's swanned back again for a 'fame moment' ready to swan back out again when the s**t hits, usual Greenie-style!
@billy goat-gruff: not everything can be done by bike (mention of bikes is getting a bit like who'll first bring Hitler into a discussion, not all situations apply). Cannot carry a week's shopping on a bike, has to be bus or car.
@Maxwell's Ghost: Agreed! Sort the **** station out, not just for us residents but also for visitors many of which are currently avoiding Bton due to the poxy travel (and parking) situation.
All in all Bton is currently suffering terribly due to Green ideas and wishy-washy attitude to our travel services, I just don't want to see Lucas's smug smiling face anymore. I'm not a violent person but...

Maxwell's Ghost wrote:what planet are you on, Maxwell? the 81 has always been run by B&H and is generally on time. it reaches out to many parts of the city, including London Rd, Queens Park, Kemptown, city centre, Furze Hill, Hove, Hove Station, Woodland Drive and Goldstone Valley. how much more would you like it to cover. on a sunday it also goes up to Meadowview! B&H have the best bus services in the country, and no, i don't work for them! i have experienced many others where 1 bus a hour is regarded as frequent!!!!!!
You may have driven it for five hous but I bet it was never on time and probably never even in Brighton.

Its always amusing to do an 81C on a Sunday as most of the passengers don't know where it goes, as to get from Churchill Square to Palmeira Square you go up Montpelier then round Furze Hill before going back down Holland Rd. As soon as you turn that corner at Waitrose it's Ding ding ding "where are you going driver I thought you went to Palmeira Square"

The fare increases and route changes were justified how? I can't remember. Were they to open this shop?
No doubt the Argus will be publishing a list of other web sites providing similar travel services so that readers can compare the costs with companies that don't have the same overheads and operating costs?
