Hove bar's bid for late opening

A bar wants to stay open until the early hours.

As part of its agreed planning permission, The Paris Wine Bar in Church Road, Hove, must close by 11.30pm Monday to Saturday and 11pm on Sunday.

However, owner Eris Kiri wants Brighton and Hove City Council to remove the condition.

This means it will be allowed to open until 2am Monday to Saturday and 1am on Sunday, which is when it is licensed to trade until.

Residents have been notified and the local authority expects to make a decision in the coming weeks.

The city needs to cut down on late night drinking due to the problems and cost of controlling the intoxicated late at night in the city.

And presumably the Paris Wine Bar will supply buckets and mops and the staff to dispense them and ensure they are appropriately used?
The idea of puke patrols moving west is not endearing along with the noise and behavioural issues!
No thank you!

This is a well run bar as long as they have door security after 11 pm it should get the go ahead.Unfortunately I don't think the police would like it ,sussex police have managed to shut all but one night club in Worthing and putting pressure on the only remaining one.In brighton our late bars are policed by private security backed up by emergency response vehicles that look like police cars but manned by private security so visable police have almost gone in the early hours.I think there is custom for a well run bar in hove I cant see the police liking it as now they have just about shut Worthing down by not having visable police and expecting venues to police the street as police are not on duty I think brighton and hove is next on their list.

This is a very nice bar, I live nearby and am 100% sure extended opening wouldn't have any adverse impact on residents-it's clientelle are definitely not the puke patrol. At the same time, and for the same reasons however, it is fairly pointless to do so, the bar (along with most other nice ones other than coke-pit Mistys) will be empty by then!
