Two Sussex council leaders in running for national award
4:30pm Monday 25th February 2013 in News
Two council leaders will find out today if they have scooped a top award.
Jason Kitcat, of Brighton and Hove City Council, and Lewes District Council’s James Page are up for the title of Leader of the Year at the 2013 Councillor Achievement Awards.
The Local Government Information Unit (LGIU), which organises the awards, said they had been nominated by the public and shortlisted from a record number of nominees.
A panel of judges will decide the winner on the basis of commitment to the role, a vision for their community, successful leadership, good community relations, accountability and the ability to unite supporters.

Not even maybe, Mr Kitcat!
Why don't you sort out some elementary problems and respond to emails about bins in Hanover before you enter competitions.

People that have cars, people that sometimes go in cars, people that have businesses that rely on people in cars reaching them, businesses that employ people that need cars and people that don't want millions of pounds of their money wasted on unpopular anti-car schemes. Have I missed anything?
You wouldn't guess it from reading the comments on the Argus site but nationally the Green administration here is held in very high regard for keeping services running while others cities are closing them down, for multiple successful bids for large scale transport infrastructure investment, the successful superconnected cities broadband deal, the living wage and now advancement of City Deal status for Greater Brighton.
