Charity fundraisers will don their best fancy dress for a midnight walk this summer.

The Martlets’ Midnight Walk challenges women to take on a six or 13-mile walking route in the dead of night, while wearing anything from face paint to flashing bunny ears and cowboy hats.

Now in its seventh year, the walk has already raised more than £750,000 to help fund essential care for more than 260 patients at the hospice’s 18-bed inpatient unit.

To help promote the event, the hospice has enlisted the services of a previously unloved mannequin called Matilda.

She will be making appearances in Brighton over the next few months to encourage women to sign up for the event.

The walk will take place on June 14.

Why only women? Do men not want to support the Martlets? This is discrimination - men can wear pink!
