People climb onto cars in Rottingdean in bid to free cat

Firefighters rescued a cat from a roof after reports people were climbing onto vehicles in an attempt to free it.

The moggie was trapped on the roof in Park Crescent, Rottingdean, at 12.30pm today, an East Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman said.

He said: “We sent firefighters from Roedean to the incident because there were reports of people climbing onto cars to try and get it and we did not want this.”

The cat was released safely.

If you call an ambulance after a car accident or the fire service if you lock yourself out or your cat gets stuck up a tree - they send you the bill! So its not all about costing them money. These services are not free. My dad had to be cut from his car after an accident and he got the bill for the ambulance which he claimef on his car insurance.

You would do well to restrict posting comments until you can string a sentence together that makes sense!

The fire service will NEVER charge people for an emergency.
They are however, well within their rights to charge people for things such as 'lock outs' (as you mentioned) because it stops people from using an EMERGENCY SERVICE as free locksmiths.
I notice you didn't mention the fire service charged for cutting out your father from his car.... I guess this is because they DO NOT charge in this situation!
Please do not mislead people.
