A259 closed near Eastbourne after car rolls on roof

A busy road has been closed after a car rolled on its roof.

The incident took place near the junction of Jevington Road and the A259 in Friston, between Seaford and Eastbourne, at about 8am today.

A police spokesman said the female driver escaped from the scene with no injuries.

A spokesman for Brighton and Hove Buses said: “Service 12/12A will have to divert from Denton Corner at Newhaven via the A26 and A27 to get to and from Eastbourne.

“A shuttle service will operate from Newhaven to Seaford as soon as possible.”

If this incident was caused by bad driving, I hope the driver is mortified she not ONLY called out the emergency services, her inattentiveness caused bus services to be affected.

People can be SO selfish.

Yesterday when out - before it started snowing, I saw three really bad examples of driving - ALL by women, not one man caught my attention driving badly and that's usually the way.

By the way, I am a woman, so I think I can comment on this FACT.

Can believe it! Yesterday, I was turning right into Hangleton. A silver Peugeot Tepee, driven by a woman, was behind, but she couldn't wait - the daft idiot decided to turn right across me. I flashed, but her sped off, exceeding the limit. Cow.

Amazing ‘car rolls on roof’, took me ages to get the dog to roll over by itself! Maybe a driver was involved :0
