NHS cuts demo planned at Brighton and Hove meeting
10:40am Monday 11th March 2013 in News
A mass demonstration is planned against the threats of privatisation and service cuts in the NHS.
Sussex health unions and campaigns will take to the streets in response to the new Health and Social Care Act which comes into effect on April 1.
A public meeting was hosted by Defend Our NHS – a joint initiative including health unions in Brighton and Hove – and Brighton Keep Our NHS Public last Thursday evening (March 7) where people were addressed by Brighton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas and local health worker Stephen McLean.
Janet Sang, from Defend Our NHS, said: “The mood of the meeting was clear: a determination to unite together to fight the vicious cuts and the privatisation of our National Health Service.”
The date of the protest is yet to be confirmed.

Sign the e-petition to get this unelected coalition out - it needs 500,000 signatures to call for a general election AND this country is having it's NHS deliberately ruined because over half of the MP's, ministers, lords have financial interests in private health care companies - don't let the crooks get away with doing this, sign all the e-petitions online to stop this.
