That last video was shot by reporter Bill Gardner outside the Amex before the game. Rival fans had to be kept apart by lines of police. Some fans from both sides tried to push their way through the cordon but were held back by officers.

Argus reporter Bill Gardner has been travelling with fans back from The Amex to the city centre. He has now reached Brighton Station.

He said: "There appears to be very little trouble post-match but there is a high police presence at Brighton Satation.

"Palace fans were kettled outside the stadium and escorted back on a special train back to London.

"The usual abuse was swapped between both sets of fans but it was all fairly good natured.

"The final indiginity for Palace fans was having to practically wade through a lake to reach the platform.

"It was so wet that people just wanted to get home.

Here is what Sussex Police are saying:

"Not long to go. A few minor incidents, but on the whole lively and good natured. Lets keep it that way. Enjoy the match."

I think it a shame that the Argus feels th eneed to deploy so mnay assets to report on the Place fans journey to the ground. I suppose if something sparks off then they will have a scoop. Bad news sells papers, nobody is interested in good news.

Grafton Street is off St James Street, nowhere near the station.
Palace fans shouting in the street, so "Albion fans" are shouting back. Very possibly residents of Queens Road wanting a lie in on a Sunday.
Pushing and shoving? Grow up Argus.

How much has this cost the Brighton taxpayer? I hope the football club has picked up the entire bill for the policing, including in the town. It must have cost tens of thousands.
If it was any other sport other than football, it would have been banned.

Yes, the football club has picked up the bill. Now stop moaning about it.

Really? Even the policing in the town? I very much doubt it.

The Police are there to protect us, so they were doing their job in town.
Unless you object to the Police doing their job on this occasion? They get paid the same if its busy or quiet, same as anyone.
Now if you really want a moan, pick something else to moan about. NEXT.

Ah, a football hater it seems?

Yes, the club pay ALL the costs of the policing!!

If your that concerned about the cost of policing maybe you should focus your grievances at the cost of policing Friday/Saturday nights in Brighton. I believe this is funded by the tax payer!!
