Hundreds of Bexhill homes without water due to power cuts

Hundreds of homes are without water after a series of power cuts.

South East Water customers in the Ninfield area of Bexhill have had disruption to their service since Saturday night.

The firm said power cuts had meant it was unable to use its pumps to move water into a reservoir  and around its network.

Supply should be restored by tomorrow afternoon.

Simon Robertson, head of distribution at South East Water, said: “Our technicians have been working hard overnight and throughout today to pump water back into the reservoir.

“However levels remain low and consequently up to 450 properties in the Ninfield area are without water.

“Bottled water is available for local residents to collect in the car park of The Blacksmith’s Inn in High Street, Ninfield.”

Since when has the village of Ninfield been an 'area' of Bexhill-on-Sea?
