A controversial wind farm has been opposed by a town council.

Galliford Try Renewables submitted plans for three turbines up to 115 metres tall on land north of the A27 in Polegate earlier this month.

The revised scheme, involving two fewer turbines than in previous plans withdrawn in July, could create enough energy for more than 4,000 homes.

But Polegate Town Council has voted to oppose the plans, claiming they are too noisy, inefficient and dangerous to human and animal health.

A final decision will be made by Wealden District Council.
