Temple Street in Brighton has a new Victorian-style street sign.
Mayor of Brighton and Hove Bill Randall unveiled the sign with 94-year-old Enid Gray, who has lived in Temple Street, off Western Road, all her life.
Her family have been residents for 130 years.
The ceremony marked the launch of a scheme to reintroduce historic-style street signs around the city, including conservation areas.
Scheme organiser Roger Amerena said: “Individuals and businesses in Temple Street, such as La Cucina restaurant, Brighton Sign and Design Company and the Temple Bar pub, have given the money to pay for this sign, which certainly makes the road look very attractive.”
A survey of areas of the city with Victorian street name plates has been carried out over the past year and an advisory panel with members of conservationist groups is set to be formed.
