A CAR burst into flames on the A23 this morning.
The vehicle was travelling along the A23 northbound when it caught alight just before the Hickstead turn off.
Traffic was delayed following the incident at about 11am.
Fire crews attended and the fire was put out by 11.30am.
A spokeswoman said the car was badly burnt.
She added there were no injuries and the cause was believed to be accidental.
