A 37-year-old man who seriously injured a cyclist in a road crash has been spared prison.
Michael Cardiff appeared at Brighton Crown Court yesterday (April 29) where he was given an eight-month jail sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Cardiff, of Harefield Avenue, Worthing, was arrested shortly after the crash in South Street, West Tarring, on June 25 last year.
He admitted failing to stop at the scene of an accident, having no insurance, failing to give his name and address, and dangerous driving.
The 25-year-old cyclist, who is from Worthing, suffered multiple fractures and a serious head injury in the crash.
