An air pistol and BB gun were seized after a fight got out of hand.

Fenchurch Walk, just off New England Road, Brighton, was cordoned off between 10.30pm and 11.40pm on Tuesday.

A 28-year-old, of Brighton, was coming home from the train station when she saw the drama. She said: “There were loads of police and blue lights.

“Traffic was being diverted.”

A Sussex Police spokesman said they were called to “reports of a fight”.

He added: “Four men aged 22, 19, 24 and 20, and a women aged 19, all living locally, were all arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing imitation firearms in a public place.

“A BB gun and what is believed to be an air pistol were seized. There were no reports of weapons being discharged or of any injuries.

“All five are currently in custody for interview and further enquiries, which are at an early stage.”
