Places for next year’s Brighton Half Marathon are selling in record time.

More than half of the places have already been taken – a month after the official launch of the 2014 event.

In total 5,500 runners have registered to run on February 16 and organisers are expecting to have filled all 11,000 places by July.

Event Manager Paul Bond said: “Considering that the race doesn’t take place until February 2014, this is a huge sign of how popular the race has become with runners not wanting to miss out on a place in this iconic race.”

Some charity packages are still available, any charities wanting to buy places should contact the event team on half.marathon@sussexbeacon.
