WILTSHIRE crashed to defeat on the final day of their Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash with Shropshire at South Wilts CC yesterday as the visitors successfully chased down 237.
Rain delayed the start on the third day until 2.45pm and Wiltshire, 156-8 overnight in their second innings, were soon all out for 159 leaving Shropshire to score 237 to win in 50 overs.
Joe Leach took 4-62, Dan Bowen 3-27 and Bilal Shafayat 2-41 as the visiting side wrapped up the hosts' innings quickly.
Shropshire then raced to their target scoring 237-3 in 37.5 overs.
Richard Oliver (72) and Shafayat (97) put on 141 for the second wicket in 22 overs and Leach (46*) finished the match.
Wiltshire's next match in the Championship is against Cheshire at Chester Boughton Hall on June 23-25.
