Three towns have been hit with a spate of car break-ins.
Mid Sussex district commander Chief Inspector Jon Hull has called on help from residents to help crackdown on a “big increase” in car crime.
In May, there were 22 offences reported in the Haywards Heath area, 21 around Burgess Hill and 16 around East Grinstead.
Chief Inspector Hull is calling on motorists to make sure that they lock their car doors to prevent opportunistic thieves, and to remove valuables from their car.
