1:30pm Wednesday 10th July 2013 in News
A cancer charity for cyclists is calling on riders from all over the south east to sign up for the next London to Brighton bike ride.
Bike 4 Cancer already has 50 supporters signed up to take part in the event on Sunday, September 8, but is hoping for 100 riders on the big day.
More than 5,000 cyclists are expected to take part in the 56- mile ride which will start at Clapham Common, London, and finish opposite Palace Pier in Brighton.
Andy Hayward, trustee at Bike 4 Cancer said: “The London to Brighton charity bike ride is one of the classic charity challenges in the UK.
“The ride is the perfect event for families, aspiring cyclists or even corporate teams and is open to all cyclists from the age of 16 upwards.
“Fifty people have currently signed up to support Bike 4 Cancer which is fantastic. Please do get in touch if you’d like to join us. We can help with bike hire and even transport back from Brighton after the ride.”
Registering for the event costs £35, which includes a buffet lunch and roadside assistance, should it be needed on the day. Cyclists are also asked to raise a minimumsponsorship of £100.
