Our  a-moozing picture shows a V.I.C enjoying her picture opportunity on the red carpet at a showbiz gala film premiere.

The Very Important Cow was Ida, the bovine star of a highly praised film called The Moo Man.

Ida, had been brushed and combed especially for the screening held for a locally made film due to be released in selected cinemas worldwide on Friday.

The Moo Man made by local film directors Andy Heathcoate and Heike Bachelier and depicts the story of a dairy farmer from Hailsham and his favourite cow, Ida.

The screening took place at Hailsham Pavilion on Thursday, following its successful premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

Mr Heathcote said: “We spent four years filming The Moo Man so we're thrilled that our film about Steve Hook, raw milk and Queen of the Herd Ida is opening this week in Hailsham and Uckfield, before it travels around the country.

“Heike and I are passionate about the issues raised in our film – issues surrounding small farms, raw milk and unruly cows – and we also like to tell a good story.

“We're very happy that it was so well received at the gala screening in Hailsham.”
