Brighton boyfriend's cracking wedding proposal
8:47am Friday 12th July 2013 in News
A boyfriend egg-selled himself by using a chocolate egg in a cracking wedding proposal.
Romantic Oliver Ronicle created his own unique Kinder Egg to propose to his girlfriend Emma Devonshire on Brighton beach on Sunday afternoon.
Miss Devonshire prised open a Kinder Egg given to her by her 39-year-old boyfriend to find a Lego man holding an engagement ring.
The 38-year-old marketing employee was suitably impressed and accepted the unusual proposal, leaving the pair to celebrate with fish and chips and champagne.
The couple, who have a son called Fox, have not chosen a date yet but are promising to get married in an unconventional manner matching their proposal.
Mr Ronicle said he had been planning it for months, including two weeks mastering the art of unwrapping the egg, prising it open, putting the egg back together with the ring inside and then reapplying the wrapping.
He said: “It had been such a fantastic weekend and it just felt like it was the right time and the right way.
“She opened up the egg fairly quickly and was just pleased to get an egg but she didn’t initially open the toy.
“Even when she did, she just said the man looked like me but then she saw the ring and was pretty shocked.”
