German students attacked and racially assaulted in Eastbourne
4:35pm Friday 12th July 2013 in News
German students were attacked and racially abused as they got off a bus.
Police are hunting a man who attacked the group as they made their way home in The Rising, Eastbourne, at about 10.15pm on Thursday.
The man chased the three male and two female students, all aged between 11 and 14, while shouting racist abuse at them.
One of the boys was punched in the face, ear and teeth, a second was slapped in the face and a third was struck in the back. The girls weren’t assaulted.
None of the victims suffered serious injury but were all left shaken.
It’s believed the attacker recognised his victims as German as the bus they alighted from was marked Jurgen Matthes Student Organisation – a language school that brings international students to Eastbourne to learn English.
The attacker is described as a white teenager of slim build with short brown hair. He was dressed in dark clothing.
