Festival stars Mumford and Sons play charity five-a-side tournament at Lewes FC

FORGET the Gentleman of the Road festival.
Surely the real pinnacle of Mumford and Sons’ career is the five-a-side tournament they are taking part in Lewes today.
Rock royalty will go up against amateurs as eight teams fight it out for the Gentleman of the Road Cup at the Dripping Pan.
Mumford and Sons, supergroup Bears Den Vampires, Winston’s Soccer Heroes, Everybody’s United and Mumfords Crew, will play Lewes FC (Mens/Ladies mixed), Bonfire United and Priory Teachers.
A Lewes FC spokesman said: “There are just 2,000 tickets available for this one-off sporting ‘spectacular’. To be honest, we don’t know how ‘spectacular’ it will be, but it will be a lot of fun.”
The tournament kicks off at 12pm today with £10 tickets available on the gate.
The roads will be closed and no parking is available.
The Lewes Fund, which helps link between charitable giving and more than 100 community groups and charities, will benefit from the tournament.
