Arsonists hunted after Worthing Hospital fire
11:40am Sunday 21st July 2013 in News
Arsonists may have been responsible for a fire in a hospital car park.
The parking attendant’s cabin at Worthing Hospital in Lyndhurst Road was broken into on Wednesday night and fire crews were called to reports of a blaze just after 11.30pm.
The fire was confined to the cabin and put out quickly.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “This appears to be an arson attack and we are currently investigating the circumstances.”
Hospital director of facilities Paul Hatcher said: “None of our services were affected, and no patients or staff suffered inconvenience as a result.
“We are aware the cause of the fire is being investigated, and we will of course provide any support that we can to assist those investigations.”
