About 250 mums, dads, children and babies braved sweltering heat to help raise thousands of pounds.
Organisers of the fourth annual Push for Prems in Brighton said it was the most successful so far.
The event is set up by parents of young children treated at the Trevor Mann specialist baby unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital as a thank you for the care and support their children received.
The walk started at the hospital on Sunday morning, with the group then heading down to the seafront and along to Hove Lagoon.
With online donations and sponsorship, organisers are hoping to raise around £7,000.
The money will be divided between the Trevor Mann and Ronald McDonald House in Brighton, which provides a place to stay for parents of children being treated in hospital.
