Man attacked by gang on Hastings Pirate Day

A man is being treated for a broken jaw and back fracture after he was assaulted at Hastings Pirate day.
The 22-year-old was attacked at the top of the "100" steps between the bottom of the West Hill cliffs leading down to the amusement arcades in George Street on July 21.
He was with a friend at the time of the assault just after 9pm on Sunday. Sussex Police said it believed he was attacked by five people, who threw him down the steps, kicked and punched him.
The victim was hospitalised and has undergone an operation.
There are believed to be five suspects. The first is described as a black man, aged 18, 5' 8', of muscular build and with short afro hair style. He was wearing a horizontal striped T-shirt.
The second suspect is described as a man, aged about 18, 6' of skinny build and with short black hair. He was wearing jeans.
Detective Constable Nick O'Shaughnessy said: "This was a vicious attack causing serious injury to the victim. This incident happened on Pirates Day so we are hoping that there were people in that area who will have seen this happen and I would ask them to come forward if they have any information."
