Diggers go to work on old London Road Co-op
10:00am Monday 29th July 2013 in News
A once iconic building now boasts crumbling walls and heavy diggers as redevelopment work continues.
The old Co-op store in London Road, Brighton, is a step closer to making way for a new student accommodation building.
But the building’s original 1930s facade will be preserved in the project, which will include rooms for more than 350 students, disabled parking spaces, 150 cycle racks and shops.
Developers Fresh Student Living is partners on the scheme with the University of Sussex, which will allocate students to the building.
