First Capital Connect set out plans to improve rail services between Brighton and London
3:40pm Monday 29th July 2013 in News
A rail company has tasked a director with improving services between Brighton and London.
First Capital Connect’s operations director Jackie Townsend will focus on making the train firm’s service more punctual, with cleaner trains and with better information at times of disruption.
The firm will increase train washing and post additional cleaners on trains during the summer to collect litter while increased CCTV is aimed at reducing graffiti attacks.
A vehicle will also be located at Brighton for driver managers and engineers to respond faster to train faults and the company will have more customer service staff available to answer passengers’ concerns.
The firm said it will also be reviewing its on-call arrangements to provide better support to the train fleet.
