Channel swim bid by Brighton fitness instructor to raise funds for charity
1:50pm Thursday 1st August 2013 in News
A fitness instructor is attempting to swim the English Channel to raise money for charity.
Sandy Beatty is raising money for spinal injury charity Aspire after a hip injury while on a 20- mile run last year.
She said: “After being so active and healthy, having this injury limited me significantly.
“I needed a challenge to aspire to and Aspire provided the opportunity to do just that.
“I know how very fortunate I am so raising funds and completing this swim with the team is a change to give just a little something back.”
Sandy, who lives in Brighton, is part of a six-person team, the Aspire Puffins, who will all be taking on the 22-mile swim.
