Youngsters given taste of life behind bars at Brighton Police Station open day
4:40pm Thursday 1st August 2013 in News
Children have had a taste of life behind bars.
The youngsters had not broken the law but were among a group of people who visited Brighton Police Station in John Street on Tuesday.
Commander of Brighton and Hove, Chief Superintendent Nev Kemp, said: “We had around 130 visitors in all to the police station. I think many officers and staff enjoyed it as much as the visitors.”
The event was part of Sussex Police’s Ten Day’s Live.
People interested in how the force works have seen a livefeed of night-time policing in Hastings, witnessed what happens when ‘rioters’ throw rocks at officers and interviewed officers.
