Three men seriously injured following head-on van crash near Hassocks
A head-on van crash this morning (August 6) has left three men with serious injuries.
The collision in London Road, between Burgess Hill and Hassocks, happened just before 6.45am.
The road was closed in both directions for much of the morning while firefighters cut the casualties free.
The men driving the vans, aged 60 and 48, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious leg and body injuries.
A passenger of one of the vans, aged 19, was taken by air ambulance to Kings College Hospital in South London with serious leg and arm injuries.
None of the injuries are thought to be life threatening.
