Three firefighters injured in explosion while tackling fire in Nutley, near Uckfield

Three firefighters were injured after there was an explosion while tackling a fire in Nutley near Uckfield this morning.
Crews from Uckfield and Crowborough were called to he Old Bakery, off A22, near Uckfield, at 9.35am
Once there they found smoke coming from the two-storey residential building.
Additional fire engines were sent from Uckfield and Forest Row.
Crews used breathing apparatus and foam to tackle the blaze in the ground floor of the house.
But having established there was no one in the house, there was a loud bang as firefighters were leaving the house.
Three needed first aid for minor injuries and were taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
At 1pm crews were still battling the blaze.
The High Street has been closed by Sussex Police.
A fire investigation will be carried out in due course.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was not known.
