A YOUNG man has been arrested as part of a police crackdown operation.
The 20-year-old was arrested on August 3 in connection with a knife-point robbery and has been released on bail pending further enquiries until October 8.
His is the fourth arrest made as part of Operation Statesman.
The operation was launched in response to a crime wave which saw a surge in knife-point muggings in Clacton.
Clacton’s neighbourhood policing team has been reinforced with a dedicated support group of dog handlers, taser-equipped officers and undercover squads for the next few weeks.
Anyone with information on suspected criminals is asked to call Essex Police on 101 or Crime-stoppers on 0800 555111.
