A middle-aged man has appeared in court charged with the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl.

Brian Clark, 58, of Fabians Way, Henfield, has been charged with the attempted rape of a 16-year old girl in Park Road in Burgess Hill on Sunday.

The 58-year-old has also been charged with failing to stop for police on the A272 at Bolney when requested by police and with failing to supply a specimen of breath.

Anyone who saw what happened should call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1237 of 11/8.
