A PUBLIC exhibition is taking place today (Thursday) for Shipston residents who want to view plans for a proposed housing development.

Banner Homes is inviting people from the area to attend the informal exhibition relating to the proposed development of land on Campden Road.

The event will take place between 5pm and 7pm at the Townsend Hall, Sheep Street.

Mark Booth, managing director for Banner Homes Midlands, said: “This exhibition will give residents the opportunity to view and discuss our proposed plans for the site with members of our team and for us to take on board any feedback and comments they may have, prior to submitting a planning application.

“Our proposed site of approximately 6.75 acres, lies to the west of Shipston on the south side of Campden Road and next to the residential development on Oldbutt Road.

“We have already taken pre-application advice from Stratford District Council regarding the potential for developing the site and it has been confirmed that, given its allocation in the Local Plan and the Draft Core Strategy, Shipston is considered a sustainable location and therefore a new residential development is accepted in principle, in line with the principles of sustainable development in the National Planning Policy Framework.”

Banner Homes proposes developing the site with about 72 properties, comprising a mixture of one, two, three and fourbedroom homes, which will also include a number of affordable houses. The land is currently farmed.
