CELEBRATIONS were had by students in the Cotswolds when they received their A-level results.

There were a few nail biting moments for some pupils as they waited until early Thursday morning to find out if they had made the grades after months of hard work.

Pupils at Chipping Campden School’s Sixth Form were able to celebrate some of the best results the school has ever achieved with over 10 per cent of the entire cohort achieving a full set of A grades.

Some of the highest achievers included Josh McQuail, who got four A* grades in maths, further maths, chemistry and biology and Vicky Firth, who achieved three A* grades in maths, further maths and biology and an A in physics.

Vicky Firth said: “I couldn’t be happier, I was so lucky to have such great teachers.”

The school’s principal, John Sanderson, also praised his staff and went on to say: “I am very proud of all that our students have achieved. Having worked so hard for the past two years in such a supportive and vibrant environment they now have the qualifications and skills they need to go on to the next stage of their learning.”

For Josh and Vicky the next step is a place at the top universities having secured offers at St John’s College, Cambridge to read Natural Sciences and Pembroke College, Oxford to read Biological Sciences, respectively.
