3:30pm Friday 16th August 2013 in News
Sixty years of marriage may have passed but love is still in the air for this couple who celebrated their diamond wedding yesterday.
Percy, 83, and Kathleen White, 81, of Barhill Avenue in Patcham, are planning a celebratory dinner with their closest friends and family to mark the occasion.
The great-grandfather said the secret to a happy marriage was a simple bit of give and take. I’d say getting on together and communication – talking to each other, whether good or bad – that’s the key.”
Mr and Mrs White met at the Regent Ballroom on Queen’s Road in Brighton where they used to go dancing almost every night.
Mr White, who worked as administration manager at The Argus for 47 years, said: “I was walking across the dance floor to ask a girl to dance but someone beat me to it.
“Then I turned round and saw Kathleen and we’ve been together ever since.”
