Railway fans will take a trip back in time during celebrations to mark a station’s special birthday.
Littlehampton railway station will be 150 years old on Saturday, August 31 and a series of steam-themed events are planned to mark the occasion.
Events at the station will include a display of steam engines, Punch and Judy shows, vintage games and a children’s ride.
The Worthing Model Railway Club will be showcasing a model railway layout at Littlehampton United Church.
Town traders are also joining in the celebrations with Hunnies hosting a themed craft fair organised by local craftswoman Jan Gordon.
Throughout the afternoon there will be Thomas the Tank Engine storytelling on the lawn of the Manor House, Church Street.
Councillor Malcolm Belchamber said: “Littlehampton changed forever when the railway station opened in 1863 and this event marks the special link between the railway, residents and the many visitors that have since flocked to our town.”
