A dead man has been found washed up on a beach, two days after a swimmer went missing.
Police were called to the beach at West Wittering near Chichester at 4.17pm today where a kayaker had discovered a body.
It has been recovered by HM Coastguard.
The man has not yet been identified, but emergency services were called to West Wittering beach on Monday following concern for a man who was seen in the water and had not been seen for some time.
The man, in his 20s, from London, was last seen up to his shoulders in the water between the beach and the sand bar at around 4-4.30pm.
The coastguard and helicopter searched the area between 6.45pm and 9pm. The search started again at 5am on Tuesday morning but no-one was found.
