Paul Flint charged with absconding from Ford Prison
3:22pm Monday 9th September 2013 in News
A prisoner has been charged with escaping from custody.
Paul Flint, 48, went missing from the Ford Prison on July 1 and a police operation was launched to track him down.
He was arrested in Wellington Road, Horsham, after a member of the public saw him in the town and called police, on Friday, September 6.
He has now been charged with escaping from custody and will appear at Lewes Crown Court on September 30.
Flint was also arrested on suspicion of carrying out three burglaries in Brighton and Hove in July and August.
He was questioned before being formally released on bail for the burglary offences until October 7, but will remain in prison because of his other convictions.
A police spokesman said: "We would like to thank everyone who has contacted us with possible sightings of Flint since he went missing.
"It is because of the public's help that he has now been returned to prison."
Anyone with information about burglaries should call 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
