Four men arrested for attempted murder after double stabbing in Rustington
12:58pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in News
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a double-stabbing in Rustington last night (Friday).
Police were called to a house in Oakhurst Gardens at 9.18pm where paramedics were treating two men, one outside the house and one inside, for stab wounds.
Two of the arrested men are in hospital with serious stab wounds - one with critical injuries.
Detective Inspector Rob Walker from West Sussex CID said today: "It was immediately apparent that a very serious incident had occurred at the property with victims and others at the house being covered in blood.
"Two men, aged 24 and 47, had been seriously injured and were taken to hospital, one with critical injuries, initially feared to be life-threatening. Both are still in hospital this morning, but are now stable and recovering.
"Both of these men have also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
"Initial indications are that those involved all knew each other, but there is some confusion as to who was in or around the house at the time and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about it.
"Please call Sussex Police on 101 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org quoting Operation Heron. Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
Two men, aged 44 and 52, both from Rustington, remained in custody on Saturday lunchtime.
