Join the Brighton and Hove parenting debate
2:23pm Monday 16th September 2013 in News
A parenting debate is being launched today to find out what issues are most important to them.
The Big Parenting Debate is being run by Brighton and Hove City Council as part of a plan to make one of the world’s most effective parenting programmes available to more people.
The Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P) focuses on making small changes to improve how you relate to your children.
It is hoped the multimedia discussion will alleviate some of the fears parents have about asking for help.
Doctor Tom Scanlon, council director of public health, said: “We want to use Triple P not just when families reach a crisis point but also to nip problems in the bud.
“We want all parents to feel comfortable about asking for help, and we also want to get more men involved – at the moment only 15% of the parents using Triple P are male.”
