VICTIM: Xhem Krasniqi
A man appeared in court today where he denied shooting a father-of-two dead in the street.
Edmund Nela, 31, of Brighton but no fixed address, denied murdering Xhem Krasniqi in Hove on May 18.
Mr Krasniqi, 31, an Albanian national living in Kent, was with family when he was blasted in Church Road late at night.
He died in hospital in the early hours of the next day. Nela, extradited from Italy, denied one count of murder, two of attempted murder and one of possessing a firearm – all in relation to the same incident.
He was remanded in custody for a trial, the date of which has not yet been set.
The trial is likely to last 15 days.
