A man has been arrested after a 34-ft boat ran aground this morning (October 26).
RNLI operators received a mayday call from a 45-year-old at 5.40am.
Roger Cohen, operations manager at Brighton RNLI, said: “We heard a male voice saying I’m going to hit the rocks and then nothing else, so we launched.”
The crew found the vessel just minutes later beached at Black Rock.
The man was helped to safety but refused medical treatment.
He has since been arrested by police who have searched the boat.
Emergency services are attempting to make the vessel safe.
More details and pictures to come.
