SCHOOLCHILDREN have made stained glass windows after visiting the homes of different faiths for multifaith week.

Pupils from Ann Cam Church of England Primary School, Dymock, visited a synagogue, a cathedral and a Catholic church as part of their religion week.

Youngsters visited Cheltenham Synagogue, Gloucester Cathedral as well as St Mary the Virgin Church in Newent and the Catholic church in Newent, Our Lady of Lourdes.

At the end of the week, all of the children presented an assembly to their parents to celebrate all they had learned and the differences and respect gained for other religions.

Isobel Watkins, aged seven, said: “I really enjoyed presenting the stained glass window that I made at school to represent the windows we saw at the cathedral.”

Chris Ward, Ann Cam executive head said: “It is really important that as a Church of England school, our children get a wider perspective on all religions and cultures.

“The children have really embraced this week and have gained so much from it."
