MOTHERS celebrated the arrival of a second year of lottery funding for a breastfeeding support group.

Baby Latte, which meets at Riverboats Children’s Centre in Upton-upon- Severn, has been handed £6,500 from the Awards for All Big Lottery Fund.

The successful group has made a big impact since it started in January 2011.

Baby Latte is run by NCT-trained breastfeeding counsellors Frances Thurlow and Mair Sherliker and meets on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Michelle Trigg came to the group before her baby arrived to find out more about breastfeeding and to chat to the other mums.

“Because of the information, guidance and emotional support I got from the ladies at Baby Latte, my early days were relaxed and positive.

“I really think that Baby Latte is crucial to women in this area having a positive and successful start to becoming a mother the way nature intended.

“I hope other areas get similar funding as it is what our country needs.”

Soon-to-be parents and small children are welcome to attend the group. For more information call Frances Thurlow on 01684 561485.
