Ledbury 31 pts Evesham 17 pts.

A FIVE-try display has lifted Ledbury into second spot in Midlands Three West (South).

Matt Hallett grabbed a brace of tries for the Ross Road outfit, who are now just two points adrift of table-topping Cheltenham North.

It was Ledbury’s fourth win from five league matches and they travel to Kings Norton this Saturday.

Ledbury conceded an unconverted try but hit back with tries from Hallett and Elliot Bee, with George Bennion slotting a conversion.

But Evesham ended the half with their second try and had the slope and wind behind them in the second period.

Ledbury improved and tries by Hallett and Bennion, the second of which Bennion converted, extended the hosts’ lead to 24-10.

Evesham bagged a converted try but Ledbury were urged on by their supporters and the hosts’ team registered the last try of the afternoon.

Jon Watkins crashed over after a surging break from captain Tom Houlbrook and Bennion kicked the conversion.

Greyhound 5 pts Tenbury 10 pts.

INJURY-hit Greyhound put up a spirited performance before going down to their second successive home Midlands Four West (North) defeat.

A competitive first-half ended 0-0 after Tenbury failed with a penalty attempt.

Within minutes of the start of the second period, Tenbury had scored a converted try but Greyhound missed out on a chance to cut the deficit when they missed a penalty.

The home side attacked the try-line repeatedly and were eventually rewarded when Jamie Gibbons went over for an unconverted try.

Towards the end, Tenbury sealed their win by kicking a penalty.

After an away game at Warley on Saturday, Greyhound are holding a Presidents Day on November 9 when former team members are invited.
