Snow Buster, Gritter Bug and Nitty Gritty will be helping keep Sussex's roads clear of snow and ice this winter.

West Sussex schoolchildren have won a school competition to Name A Gritter.

Drivers working for West Sussex County Council contractor Balfour Beatty will park up three re-named gritters at the three winning schools today to show pupils.

Snow Buster, named by Jack Osbourne will be at William Penn Primary School, Brooks Green Rd, Horsham at 9.15am.

The Gritter Bug, named by Callum Courtnadge, will be at Durrington First School, Salvington Road, Worthing, at 10.45am.

Nitty Gritty, named by Olivia Bird, will be at East Preston Junior School, Lashmar Rd, East Preston, Littlehampton, at 11.30am.

There will also be a presentation of a grit bin, grit salt and snow shovel to the school, and a £20 High Street voucher to the child who created the winning name.
