A woman was pushed and had her handbag stolen after she was followed by two men.

At about 7.40pm on Tuesday December 3 a woman walking along Mill Road, Burgess Hill, towards St Wilfred's Road when she was set upon by the two men, who ran off in the direction of St Wilfred's Road.

They are both described as white, 5' 8" or over, and of average build.

One man was wearing a black jacket with its hood up, grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

The other man was wearing dark baggy clothing.

Detective Constable Stuart Streeter said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Mill Road area on Tuesday evening and who saw anything or anyone suspicious - particularly two men matching the descriptions given who may have been loitering in that vicinity."
