A 21-year-old man was attacked by a group of boys and robbed of his shoes.
The victim from Worthing was robbed as he was walking near the David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Worthing at 12.45am on Sunday.
He was walking along the alleyway which runs between Romany Road and Winterbourne Close in Durrington when he was attacked by a group of boys.
They pushed him to the floor, punched him and stole his mobile, rucksack, keys, tobacco and his shoes.
Detective Constable Jane Mills said: "We believe the attackers specially targeted the victim following a dispute between the victim and another person, however the victim does not know his attackers.
"Thankfully he was uninjured but was obviously very shaken.
Witnesses are asked to call police on 101 quoting serial 76 of 8/12.
