A Libyan student was stabbed in the face in a racist assault.

The 27-year-old student was standing at a bus stop opposite Lidl in Arundel Road, Brighton, when he was approached by two men.

The attackers swore at him before one stabbed him in the face. The men then ran off. Nothing was stolen.

The victim had to have stitches to his face.

The incident, which took place at Wednesday, October 2, at 10pm, is being treated as a racially motivated assault.

Detective Constable Sophie Tullett said: "We are still determined to find the men responsible for this nasty attack.

"The three men in the images were seen in the area at the time and could have vital information about what happened.

"They may have seen or heard what took place or could have seen the victim of the attackers in the moments before or after the assault.
